Africom takes steps to minimize tariff increases.
The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) recently approved new tariffs for Africom's Data Telecommunications services.
Africom offers bandwidth services of varying speeds, ranging from 64kbps through to 100mbps.
The new approved monthly charge for a 64kbps bandwidth service is $ 3,9 million. However, Africom intends to stagger the increases over a period of time, with the initial charge for a 64kbps pegged at $1,8million. "These tariffs were arrived at after considering the costs Africom incurs in delivering its services to customers. However, in order to minimize the impact on its customers, Africom has decided to stagger the tariff increases", an Africom spokesman said.
Africom remains committed to adding value to their customers' businesses through offering them reliable high speed data communications services at the least possible costs."
"We will continue to manage our costs to keep tariffs as low as possible, consistent with our continuing to efforts to offer reliable, fast and efficient data communication services", she said.
