DaSilva wins Africom Golf Classic
The Africom Classic celebrated its 3rd year as one of Zimbabwes
premiere pro-ams on the 12-13th of this month at Sun River
Golf Club. Africom reflects in many ways the ZPGA tour as
a new breed of professional player in the business world and
professional golfing world emerges. The ZPGA tour continues
to burst new names with great potential who are showing their
talents with superb scores. For example in the recent Sky
Golf Safaris winter tour, fresh talent like Simon Katembenuka
and Barry Painting emerged as names to watch in future.
Africom likewise, has grown from a passionate Zimbabwean
communications company into now a serious professional player
that is intrinsically involved in networks and infrastructural
communications in the nation.
This years order of merit winner, Adilsen Da Silva,
is arguably the finest Zimbabwean professional at the current
time who will be vying for his European tour card later this
year did something very similar to him, he won. Prominent
Zimbabwe world players like Nick Price who is ranked 11th
in the world typifies that great talent is available locally
as long as. Da Silva captured his major victory of the season
with a six-birdie performance resulting in a 13-under-par
score of 131. Tongoona Charamba, Sean Farrell and J Dube of
both of South Africa trailed just behind Da Silva with rounds
of 136.
" Its not always nice that you become a millionaire
in one day, I am happy to say that today I am a millionaire
thanks top sponsors Africom, for such a wonderful event"
said Da Silva of the tournament. "I started with a few
early birdies and that got me going."
This years event was a unique as some Africom stakeholders

years most golfer could be the next years winner,
