Q. What is Africomail?
A. Africomail is a free email service offered to you
by Africom.
Q. How can I sign up with Africomail?
A. You can sign up by going on the Africomail homepage on
http://www.africomail.com
or via the Africom private limited web page on http://www.afri-com.com.
You click on the link to create a new account and submit a
form with all the required information.
Q. Will my computer work with Africomail?
A. Africomail works with web browsers Internet explorer and
Netscape 4.0 and higher. It also works with the operating
systems Windows 95,98 NT and Mac 7.6.1 and higher.
Q. Can I keep my currentISP?
A. Yes! Most people have an email account through their ISP,
but that email address is only accessible through that ISP.
Africomail is Internet based, so you can check your messages
from any web browsers. To get your email just go to http://www.Africomail.com
and log in.
Q. How do I recover a forgotten password?
A. On the log in page there is a link to "the forgotten your
password web page" if you supplied a secret question and answer
when you created your account, you are asked a secret question
and expected to provide the secret answer. You will then be
asked to choose a new password to use thereafter.
Q. How much email storage space do I
get from Africomail?
A. Africomail offers 4mb of storage space where you
store your messages and attachments on the Africomail server.
Africomail may remove some messages and their attachments
if you do not keep your account below this limit. Messages
and attachments removed cannot be recovered it is therefore
recommended to save your attachments to your hard drive.
Q. Can I use Africomail as a business
address?
A. Yes. You may use your Africom address as your primary business
address. If however you work for a company with which you
have an email address and you want to send and receive e-mail
while away from work, you may do so.
Q. Is my email really private and secure?
A. Secure connections (often called SSL, or Secure
Sockets Layer) is the industry standard in web security. It
is used primarily for transmitting sensitive information over
the Internet. No one else can easily access your data when
you have a secure connection between your browser and a web
browser. To give you a high level of security Africomail uses
SSL to encrypt your sign in name and password when you log
in.
Q. Can I attach files on Africomail?
A. Yes to attach files you use the browser button at
the foot of the body of the message to select the file to
be attached and click on the upload button to finish the attachment
process.
